Centered in God, we co-create a world of light, love, and joy.
Centered in Truth principles, we are an open, loving, joyous, accepting family where spiritual connection is deepened, all paths are honored, healing occurs, and diversity is celebrated.
- Love: We believe each one of us is a unique expression of God’s love, and all of us are called to minister by simply loving one another unconditionally.
- Inclusiveness: we seek out and welcome everyone into our spiritual community. We celebrate and love you for who you truly are.
- Service: Our goal is to provide love, understanding, comfort, and support to everyone in our Unity family. We believe that serving with open, loving hearts will transform not only ourselves, but also our world.
- Community: We believe that our greatest strength comes from our unity, from the power of coming together into collective Christ consciousness, and together, seeking the flow and wisdom of the universe.
- Abundance: We believe we live in an unlimited, abundant universe and that we demonstrate this abundance in the physical realm through right thinking and right action, as individuals and as a community. God is our source in all things
Offer worship and celebration in a welcoming, convenient, joyous environment. Raise consciousness. Build community. Nurture youth & family. Provide outreach to our community. Claim and demonstrate God’s abundance. Provide enlightenment through Truth classes and seminars
Your experience at Unity Center in the Valley may be different than what you have experienced in traditional churches. We don’t have the usual rituals, ceremonies, doctrines, or creeds found in most traditional religions. We honor all paths to God, knowing that there is Truth to be found in all spiritual paths.
We believe that we create our lives with our thoughts, so we focus our attention on the good, recognizing the magnetizing power of the mind. We teach taking responsibility for our thoughts, our actions, and our lives. Humankind is made in the image and likeness of God. We are powerful spiritual beings having a human experience. God is within each one of us — guiding us, supporting us, and supplying us with all that we need.
We believe in the power of prayer and teach affirmative prayer. By praying for the highest good, we know that we are drawing to us exactly what we need to live a happy and purposeful life.
If you are seeking more meaning in your life, if you know there is more to you than what you have been taught thus far, if you have the courage to seek Truth, we invite you to join with others of like mind in this exciting journey we have undertaken. Try us for a few Sundays and see if this is the place for you.
We invite you to roam through our web site and find something that will inspire you, help you, or arouse your curiosity.
We began in 2001 as a small group with a vision to deepen our relationship with God. The first group, started by Kathryn Thalden, a Licensed Unity Teacher, studied Neale Donald Walshe’s first book, Conversations With God. The group continued their study with A Course in Miracles, a weekly meditation/prayer group. They later added a Power vs Force study group, attracting more and more local residents. The groups continued to grow. Ann Graham and Sherry Fickler, early study group members, joined with Kathryn Thalden to offer Sunday worship under the name Unity in Green Valley.
The first devotional service was held on Easter Sunday, April 20, 2003. During its formative years, Unity in Green Valley held worship services in a catering facility and at a local school. Sherry Fickler retired in 2005. Kathryn Thalden retired in June 2007. And Ann Graham retired in August 2007 when Unity in Green Valley hired Rev. Sophia Falke, its first ordained Unity minister. In December 2008 we moved into our own dedicated home at Pecos and Sunset and incorporated under the name Unity Center in the Valley.
In March 2012 Unity Center moved into expanded facilities at the Longford Plaza, 3037 E. Warm Springs Road, Suite 300, Las Vegas.
Unity Center in the Valley is an expansion ministry of Unity Worldwide Ministries, based in Lees Summit, Missouri. Unity was founded in the 1890s by Myrtle and Charles Fillmore. The ministry is based on the original teachings of Jesus the Christ. Unity is probably best known for its publication, the Daily Word, a daily devotional book read around the world, and Silent Unity, its 24/7 telephone prayer ministry.
Unity Center is a spiritual center devoted to providing practical teachings to help people live healthy, prosperous, and meaningful lives. We continue to do God’s work as we deepen our relationship with God and each other. We are a Divine Idea in progress and welcome all who wish to participate.
